The I-8437 / 8837 provides ethernet solutions. It contains 4 communication ports, COM1:RS232, COM2: 10M ethernet , COM3:RS232/RS485, COM4:RS232. The I-8417/8817 provides RS485 solutions. It contains 4 communication ports, COM1:RS232, COM2: RS485, COM3: RS232 / RS485, COM4:RS232. These different communication ports can provide different kinds of usage include RS485 networking, controller to controller data-exchange, Modbus / Modbus TCP protocol, remote I/O extension, linking with HMI / MMI, program download / upload , and debugging.
